A Different Reception
Trump’s appearance came in New York City, a liberal stronghold where he was heavily booed at the U.S. Open in 2015.
This time, the crowd was notably more positive, with cheers often drowning out jeers.

The White House pool feed picked up the applause, despite speculation that broadcasters were avoiding crowd shots.
Trump’s Reaction
After the match, Trump said he “loved” the atmosphere and praised the fans.
“They were really nice. The fans were really nice,” he told reporters.
