“Real Time” host Bill Maher told his fellow Democrats that they need to “do something” about ABC’s “The View” if the party wants to be taken seriously.
Maher was speaking in reference to “The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg’s most recent controversial comments, in which she compared being a black American to the experience of a woman living in Iran. Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin pushed back by pointing to the oppressive human rights abuses women endure in the theocratic nation, including imprisonment if they fail to adhere to strict Islamic dress codes.
Bill Maher says “something” needs to be done about The View if Democrats ever want to return to sanity.

“Let’s not do that, because if we start with that, we have been known in this country to tie gay folks to the car. Listen, I’m sorry, they used to just keep hanging Black people,” Goldberg ranted.
Goldberg’s statement, the HBO host argued, represents the
