Washington State Senator Bill Ramos Dies Suddenly – EVOL

Washington State Senator Bill Ramos, a Democrat, has tragically died suddenly, according to reports.

According to a Facebook post by his wife, King County Councilmember Sarah Perry, Ramos died unexpectedly Saturday evening.

Ramos was 69 years old when he dropped dead during a trail run, his wife wrote.

“Billy is my East, my West, my North and South,” Perry wrote in the post.

Ramos and Perry have two children together: Maya and Max.

“I don’t know how I’ll do this without him,” she said.

“Prayers for him, for us, please.”

Ramos had represented the 5th Legislative District since 2019.

The district stretches from Issaquah to Snoqualmie Pass to Enumclaw.

He first served in Washington’s House of Representatives.

Ramos was only recently voted into the state Senate in November.

Before the statehouse, Ramos was on the Issaquah City Council from 2016 to 2019.

Many lawmakers and others from across the state expressed shock and sadness on social media.

Gov. Bob Ferguson said he was “deeply saddened” and that the “shocking death is difficult to process.”
