President Donald Trump has imposed comprehensive travel restrictions on 19 countries, completely barring entry from 12 nations while implementing partial restrictions on seven others. 

The proclamation represents one of the most extensive immigration enforcement actions of Trump’s current presidency and signals a dramatic shift in United States border security policy.

The new restrictions prohibit nationals from Afghanistan, Chad, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Myanmar, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen from entering the United States. 

Citizens of Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan and Venezuela face partial travel limitations under the directive.

He simultaneously issued a chilling warning that Egypt could be next.

Trump announced the decision through a video statement, declaring his administration’s firm stance on border security. 

The president cited recent security concerns as justification for the comprehensive travel restrictions, emphasizing the need to protect American citizens from potential threats.

The proclamation directly references a terror attack in Boulder, Colorado, where an Egyptian national allegedly committed violent acts against pro-Israel demonstrators. 

Mohamed Soliman, who had overstayed his visa and was residing illegally in the United States, now faces accusations of firebombing the gathering of individuals honoring hostages held by Hamas militants in Gaza.
