Trump Greenlights Military Force to Take Down Drug Cartels – EVOL

President Donald Trump has signed a directive ordering the Pentagon to launch military operations against Latin American drug cartels officially designated as foreign terrorist organizations by his administration, according to The New York Times.

The order gives the U.S. military legal authority to conduct anti-cartel missions in foreign countries, with plans already being drafted to target specific groups.

Cartels Named as Terrorist Organizations

Under Trump, the U.S. has formally labeled seven Mexican drug cartels and two international gangs as terrorist entities:

  • Cártel de Sinaloa

  • Cártel de Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG)

  • Cártel del Noreste (CDN)

  • La Nueva Familia Michoacana (LNFM)

  • Cártel de Golfo (CDG)

  • Cárteles Unidos (CU)

  • Tren de Aragua (TdA) – Venezuela

  • Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) – U.S. origins, Central American operations

  • Cartel de los Soles – Venezuela, run by Nicolás Maduro and top
