Tim Scott to Appear on Stage with Trump at Rally as Running Mate Rumors Swirl – EVOL

Republican Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) is expected to join President Donald Trump on stage for a campaign rally in South Carolina Wednesday night.

The news comes amid growing rumors he could be chosen as Trump’s running mate.

Scott will be on stage with Trump at the 45th president’s Get Out the Vote rally at the Charleston Area Convention Center in North Charleston, the Washington Examiner reported.

The rally comes just 10 days before the South Carolina GOP primary on February 24.

In an interview with Fox News’s Maria Bartiromo earlier this month, Trump name-dropped Scott.

He also named South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem.

He dropped the names while speaking about the criteria he was looking for in a potential running mate.

Trump at the time also denied reports that his campaign reached out to independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to explore a potential ticket with him early on in the campaign season.

Trump says the interaction “never happened.”

Scott, responding to Trump’s consideration, told Fox News on February 6  that his top priority was ensuring the 45th president beats Democrat President Joe Biden.
