College campuses in the United States have been experiencing a surge in anti-Israel protests recently, leading to an increase in the number of arrests made by the authorities in an attempt to restore order.
According to the AP, approximately 2,200 individuals have been apprehended during this period of unrest.
Despite the utilization of riot gear, tactical vehicles, and flash-bang devices to disperse tent encampments and occupied structures, there seems to be no indication of the protests subsiding or the arrests ceasing anytime soon.
Interestingly, even amidst these arrests, some students are appealing for preferential treatment and requesting that no official records be maintained regarding their lawful detention.
The AP reports:
“A tally by The Associated Press recorded at least 56 incidents of arrests at 43 different U.S. colleges or universities since April 18.
“The figures are based on AP reporting and statements from universities and law enforcement agencies.”
According to a report by Breitbart News, former President Donald Trump commended the police officers for their commendable actions in apprehending numerous individuals described as “radical left” and anti-Israel “lunatics” at Columbia University and the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA).
