Both lawmakers aim to oust House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) from his leadership role.

Johnson recently secured an endorsement from the House Democrat leadership.

The relationship has stirred controversy among some members of his own party.

In response, Greene and Massie announced their intent to force a vote to vacate Johnson’s position.

They argue that Johnson must be removed because his recent decisions do not align with conservative principles.

Their decision comes at a time when internal divisions within the Republican Party are becoming increasingly visible.

Greene and Massie’s motion is set to challenge the leadership of Johnson, who they claim has compromised on critical issues such as government funding, surveillance policies, and military aid to Ukraine.
