A Wisconsin teenager allegedly killed his parents in order to “obtain the financial means and autonomy necessary” so that he could assassinate President Donald Trump and overthrow the government of the United States, according to court documents from the Department of Justice.
Nikita Casap, 17, was taken into custody last month and charged with two counts of first-degree murder as well as two counts of hiding a corpse, according to ABC News.
He allegedly shot and killed his step-father Donald Meyer, 51, as well as his mother Tatiana Casap, 35, in February before he fled the state. The killing of his mother and step-father, a DOJ filing said, “appeared to be an effort to obtain the financial means and autonomy necessary” to carry out the assassination of Trump.
An affidavit from federal authorities said, “He was in touch with other parties about his plan to kill the President and overthrow the government of the United States. And he paid for, at least in part, a drone and explosives to be used as a weapon of mass destruction to commit an attack.”
