President Joe Biden wasted no time in issuing a statement following the jury’s verdict of guilt for former President Donald Trump in his Manhattan trial involving “hush money”.
“There’s only one way to keep Donald Trump out of the Oval Office: At the ballot box,” Biden wrote on social media, linking to a fundraising page.
“The threat Trump poses to our democracy has never been greater. He is running an increasingly unhinged campaign of revenge and retribution. A second Trump term means chaos, ripping away Americans’ freedoms and fomenting political violence – and the American people will reject it this November,” Biden’s campaign added.
Trump was found guilty on all 34 counts by the jury. A sentencing hearing has been set by the judge for July 11.
