Leftist Hollywood star Robert De Niro has responded to the “guilty” verdict in President Donald Trump’s “hush money” by celebrating the outcome.
The actor has a long-running feud with Trump and was delighted that the weaponized justice system was able to convict the 45th president.
However, De Niro claims he is concerned for his safety as one of the more prominent anti-Trump Democrat operatives.
De Niro weighed in on the jury’s verdict in the “hush money” trial.
“I think justice was served,” De Niro told Variety at an event for his new film Ezra.
“This never should have gotten to this stage,” the actor continued.
“I don’t want to be talking, but I am so upset by it.
“I have to say something. This is my country. This guy wants to destroy it. Period. He’s crazy.”
When asked if he ever feared for his safety, De Niro said he did.
However, he claims he refuses to be intimidated by Trump or threats from his supporters.
“You think about that,” he said.
“It makes me more angry, but I have to be afraid to be intimidated.
“And that’s why I said, you’re not going to intimidate us.
“People are fed up, they’re going
