Rep. Thomas Massie Responds After Trump Vows to Lead Primary Challenge Against Him – EVOL

Libertarian-leaning Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) is remaining defiant even in the face of a potentially serious primary challenger supported by President Trump.

Trump has declared political war on Massie for opposing the Trump-backed funding bill aimed at preventing a government shutdown. The president has urged Republican lawmakers to rally behind a continuing resolution (CR) to keep the government funded through September.

But Massie is a hard no. He has slammed the bill as a Uniparty deal that fully funds USAID while providing zero funds for the border wall.

“The CR is a UNIPARTY deal. It doesn’t fund the wall. It does fund USAID,” he wrote. “The democrats depart for a retreat on Wednesday, so they’ve already agreed to provide enough votes to pass the CR. Meanwhile, our election mandate will wane by this coming Sept.”

“I’m not voting for the Continuing Resolution budget (cut-copy-paste omnibus) this week,” he added. “Why would I vote to continue the waste fraud and abuse DOGE has found? We were told the CR in December would get us to March when we would fight. Here we are in March, punting again! WTFO”
