Republicans on Capitol Hill are turning up the heat on Dr. Anthony Fauci after learning that his presidential pardon was rubber-stamped using Joe Biden’s autopen — not a live signature.
Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) announced Monday he is referring Fauci to Attorney General Pam Bondi and the Department of Justice for criminal investigation, citing Biden’s questionable use of the autopen to issue a last-minute pardon for the former COVID czar.
Autopen Cover-Up
The news broke during a New York Times investigation into Biden’s final days in office. According to the report, then-Chief of Staff Jeff Zients signed off on using the autopen to pardon Fauci and others — including former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) and members of the discredited J6 Committee.
“I approve the use of the autopen for the execution of all of the following pardons,” Zients reportedly wrote.
Biden himself admitted he “did not individually approve” each name on the list, instead approving broad criteria while his staff ran the final document through a machine — a move critics call an abuse of executive power.
