Protesters Breach Barriers, Rush the US Capitol – EVOL

We saw things get started early with anti-ICE protests in a variety of locations, including at the Delaney Hall ICE facility in Newark on Thursday and Friday.

Also on Friday, there was action at the U.S. Capitol. People were protesting at the Supreme Court. But then, as they were leaving, they allegedly pushed past the barriers the police were setting up to keep protesters away.

“A few people pushed the bike rack down and illegally crossed the police line while running towards the Rotunda Steps,” the Capitol Police said. “Our officers immediately blocked the group and began making arrests.”

CNN reported they were a veterans group against “fascism.” It looks like someone got hurt when those barriers went over.

Sixty of the protesters were arrested, then marched to a bus and taken away.
