Prince Andrew’s live-in ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, has been cut off by several charities after leaked correspondence revealed she once described convicted child trafficker Jeffrey Epstein as a “steadfast, generous and supreme friend.”
Children’s hospice Julia’s House announced Sunday that the Duchess of York would no longer serve as a patron.
“Following the information shared this weekend on the Duchess of York’s correspondence with Jeffrey Epstein, Julia’s House has taken the decision that it would be inappropriate for her to continue as a patron of the charity,” the group said in a statement.
Other organizations quickly followed suit.
The Teenage Cancer Trust, the Natasha Allergy Research Foundation, and Prevent Breast Cancer all confirmed they had severed ties with Ferguson.
The British Heart Foundation and the Children’s Literacy Charity also ended her roles, according to BBC reporting.
The Epstein Connection
The fallout stems from emails allegedly written by Ferguson to Epstein in 2011.
The correspondence came just after she gave an interview to the Evening Standard, publicly denouncing him and expressing “deep regret” over their friendship.
