Pop star Pink is under fire after mocking the funeral of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated earlier this month.
According to screenshots circulating on social media, Pink suggested in a now-deleted Instagram post that the children’s song “Pop Goes the Weasel” should be played at Kirk’s service.
The social media post, captioned “Funeral idea #2,” read:
“At the end of the service, the organist plays pop goes the weasel over and over and overrrrr while everyone stares at the coffin in silent, horrified anticipation.”
The comments, widely seen as disrespectful toward Kirk’s grieving family and supporters, quickly ignited a firestorm across X and Instagram.
Outrage Across Social Media
Social media users accused Pink of cruelty for making light of Kirk’s death.
“[Pink] you are a sick and disgusting excuse for a human being,” one X user wrote.
“I pity your children that they have you as a parent.
“I pray no one you love is ever murdered and no one mocks them as you have Charlie Kirk. Shame on you.”
On Instagram, another user wrote:
“The Internet seen the posts you shared.
“Shame on you,” they also added.
Others demanded Pink apologize directly to Kirk’s family.
