Construction at the site of the Tennessee Titans’ new Nissan Stadium was suspended this week after a noose was reportedly found, prompting an investigation by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.
The noose was discovered by the Tennessee Builders Alliance, the group overseeing construction on the new $2 billion stadium, which began earlier this year.
“This week, a racist and hateful symbol was discovered on our site,” the group said. “We reported the incident to law enforcement, suspended work, and launched an investigation.”
Sheriff Clarke: “Give Me a Break”
Former Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke Jr. dismissed the reaction as overblown.
“Work at the site halted? Over this? Oh give me a f***ing break,” Clarke wrote on X.
“Stop the insanity. Treating this as if it’s a workplace accident leading to someone dying. Don’t call in the FBI.
