At least 29 people have been killed after a plane carrying 181 people crashed off a runway and smashed into a wall at a South Korean airport.
The Jeju Air flight was returning from Bangkok when the horror unfolded at Muan International Airport in South Korea, the Yonhap news agency reported.
Authorities have now confirmed the death toll but say this number likely to rise, with the majority being found in the tail of the plane.
They added just two survivors have been pulled from the wreckage so far – one flight attendant and one passenger.
Most of the passengers are Korean, except for two Thai nationals.
‘We have so far confirmed 29 deaths from the crash,’ Lee Hyeon-ji, a response team officer at the local fire department, told AFP.
‘But the tally could rise due to the critically injured,’ she added.
Haunting snaps taken from the scene shows a huge plume of smoke as scores firefighters with 32 trucks were tackling the blaze.
