McHenry Orders Pelosi to Vacate Capitol Hideaway Office By Wednesday

Acting Speaker Patrick McHenry (R-NC) has ordered Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) to vacate her hideaway office in the Capitol building by Wednesday, according to a message obtained by The Messenger.

The email to Pelosi’s office said the room would be reassigned for speaker use.

Politico first reported the news Tuesday night.

“Please vacate the space tomorrow, the room will be re-keyed,” the email reads.

McHenry became acting speaker Tuesday after eight House Republicans joined with Democrats to oust Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., from the speakership in a historic vote.

Pelosi, who missed Tuesday’s vote, is in California to mourn the passing of the late Sen. Dianne Feinstein.
