Los Angeles Democrat Accuses Home Depot of Being ‘Complicit’ in Illegal Alien Raids – EVOL

A Los Angeles City Council member is going after Home Depot, accusing the hardware chain of being “complicit” with raids on illegal aliens and vowing to block the opening of a new store in her district.

“Take your orange aprons somewhere else,” Councilmember Ysabel Jurado, a Democrat, wrote on Instagram.

“Home Depot has no place in Eagle Rock.”

Home Depot has filed plans with the Los Angeles city planning department to demolish a shuttered Macy’s in Eagle Rock Plaza and build a new superstore on the property.

But Jurado, a freshman councilmember and former tenants’ rights attorney, argued the chain has “remained silent” about Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations that have taken place outside its stores.

She claimed the silence made Home Depot “complicit” in federal enforcement.

“These raids are part of a disturbing pattern across Los Angeles, with ICE repeatedly targeting Home Depot parking lots – common gathering spots for day laborers – without judicial warrants, in clear violations of people’s rights,” Jurado said.

“And yet, Home Depot has remained silent.”

The Los Angeles Times published surveillance footage reportedly showing an ICE raid at a Westlake Home Depot last Thursday.
