Lara Trump shared a candid look at her first meeting with President Donald Trump, recalling a surprising encounter that set the tone for her future with the president’s family.
The meeting took place in 2008 at the US Open in Flushing, Queens, the same year Lara began dating Eric Trump.
“My husband did not prepare me at all,” Lara, 42, told The Post. “It’s funny because you’ll hear from a lot of people the same experience I had, which is that he’s such an easy person to talk to.”
Lara described arriving at what she assumed were normal bleacher seats, only to be led into a suite where Donald and Melania Trump were holding court. Initially intimidated, she quickly found the encounter warm and personal.
“He wanted to know about me. The general small talk, where I’m from, where I went to school, what I was doing,” she said.
