FBI Director Kash Patel set Washington buzzing Friday with a cryptic post on X, coinciding with a dramatic federal raid on the Bethesda, Maryland, home of former National Security Adviser John Bolton. Patel’s message read simply: “NO ONE is above the law…@FBI agents on mission.”
Though he didn’t name names, the timing left little doubt about the target.
Minutes later, Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino reinforced the statement, posting, “Public corruption will not be tolerated,” and later emphasizing the message during a Fox News appearance.
Vice President J.D. Vance also reshared Patel’s post, amplifying the message to a national audience.
The FBI declined to comment directly on Patel’s post or the raid, but sources confirmed that agents executed a search warrant tied to classified information.
Bolton, known as a fierce critic of President Donald Trump, had his security clearance revoked earlier this year after Trump returned to office, as the Conservative Brief reported.
Bolton appeared unbothered by the raid, criticizing Trump’s diplomatic efforts with Russia around the same time.
“Meetings will continue because Trump wants a Nobel Peace Prize,” Bolton tweeted, dismissing the negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv as doomed due to Russia’s territorial demands.
