Kash Patel, the new nominee for FBI Director under President Donald Trump, released a statement and vowed to “restore integrity, accountability, and equal justice” to the justice system.
Patel made this statement Saturday night, following Trump’s announcement of his nomination on Truth Social.
The decision to nominate Patel comes as President Trump focuses on reforming federal law enforcement agencies, which he claims have been weaponized by the “Deep State.” In his announcement, Trump declared that Patel would put efforts to address major national challenges, including rising crime and cross-border trafficking.
“This FBI will end the growing crime epidemic in America, dismantle the migrant criminal gangs, and stop the evil scourge of human and drug trafficking across the Border,” Trump wrote.
