Kari Lake Files Paperwork to Run for Sinema’s Arizona Senate Seat

It bothers me when people just cannot stay away from politics. Looking at you, Mitt Romney, Hillary Clinton, and John Kerry. Many others, too.

Failed Arizona gubernatorial candidate and mega Trump supporter Kari Lake filed papers to run for the Senate seat currently occupied by now-Independent Kyrsten Sinema:

Republican Kari Lake’s U.S. Senate campaign formally filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission on Tuesday, a week ahead of her scheduled public announcement.

The former TV newscaster who has served as a prominent surrogate for former President Donald Trump’s campaign has turned to the treasurer of her failed gubernatorial campaign to hold a similar role with her Senate bid.

Youssef Khalaf of 100 Squared Financial is the treasurer and record-keeper for a long-expected campaign that is in its early stages.

Lake is seeking the GOP nomination to challenge for the Senate seat held by incumbent Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, I-Ariz.

Lake has scheduled an event in Scottsdale on September 10. Lake’s senior advisor, Caroline Wren, confirmed she would open her campaign with an event on that date.

Sinema has not yet announced her intention to run again. But if she does, then it would be a three-way race.
