Former Vice President Kamala Harris is facing backlash as she launches a global book tour to promote her memoir about her failed 2024 presidential campaign.
Harris, 60, announced a 15-city tour beginning Sept. 24, a day after the release of her book “107 Days.”
The memoir promises a “behind-the-scenes” look at what Harris calls “the shortest presidential campaign in modern history,” according to a post on X.
The announcement included a short montage of Harris smiling on the campaign trail. Social media users quickly mocked the post as tone-deaf given her crushing loss to President Donald Trump.
“Never seen someone celebrating an L like that lol,” one user quipped. Another called it “the loser tour.” A third joked, “How to blow 2.5B in 107 days,” referencing the amount Harris’ campaign spent.
Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC) called Harris’ book tour “a nationwide comedy tour,” criticizing the former vice president for turning a devastating defeat into a publicity campaign, as the New York Post reported.
Deputy White House Press Secretary Abigail Jackson questioned the purpose of the tour.
