Democrat strategist James Carville has been forced into an embarrassing public apology after First Lady Melania Trump’s attorneys threatened legal action over a false and defamatory claim linking her to Jeffrey Epstein.
On his Politics War Room podcast, Carville admitted receiving a letter from Melania’s lawyer over a YouTube video titled “The Epstein Connection: TRUMP & MELANIA” — which featured an inflammatory thumbnail showing Trump, Melania, Epstein, and Ghislaine Maxwell.
“We took down the video and edited out those comments… I also take back these statements and apologize,” Carville said.
In the since-removed clip, Carville suggested — without evidence — that Melania “may have been introduced to Donald by Jeffrey Epstein,” calling it a “real possibility.”

Legal analysts say the First Lady’s team likely saw the accusation as clear defamation: there was no factual basis, and the claim was presented in a sensational manner.
After the backlash, Carville’s team replaced the video image with a giant red X over the original thumbnail as part of the retraction.
