Hunter Biden reportedly asked the Democratic National Committee (DNC) to cover his legal expenses related to federal tax and gun charges, according to a forthcoming book.
The book, titled “2024: How Trump Retook the White House and the Democrats Lost America,” alleges that the DNC declined his request.
At the time, the DNC was already paying legal fees for President Joe Biden in connection with a separate investigation into alleged mishandling of classified documents.
According to the book, the DNC chose not to extend that financial support to Hunter Biden’s unrelated legal issues.
By mid-2024, Hunter Biden’s legal bills were growing. Kevin Morris, a longtime associate and financial backer sometimes referred to as Hunter’s “sugar brother,” had already paid over $2 million to settle his outstanding tax liabilities.
Morris also contributed to ongoing legal costs related to Hunter’s federal cases.
Hunter Biden’s obligations extended beyond legal fees.
He was also responsible for alimony payments to his ex-wife Kathleen Buhle and child support for his daughter, Navy Joan Roberts, born from his relationship with Lunden Roberts.
These payments were part of a court settlement finalized in June 2023, the New York Post reported.
