House GOP Subpoenas DOJ for Materials on Special Counsel Hur’s Interview with Biden – EVOL

House Republicans have issued a subpoena against the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) to obtain materials related to Special Counsel Robert Hur’s interviews with Democrat President Joe Biden.

As Slay News reported, Hur’s explosive report revealed that the special counsel wouldn’t pursue charges against Biden for mishandling classified documents due to the president’s responses and behavior during the interview.

Hur noted in his report that securing a conviction wouldn’t be possible because a jury would see Biden in the same way the special counsel investigators did – “an elderly man with a poor memory.”

According to the report, Biden couldn’t remember when he was vice president or even the year his son Beau died.

The subpoena was issued by Republicans leading Biden’s impeachment inquiry — House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY), House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan (R-OH), and House Ways & Means Committee Chair Jason Smith (R-MO).

They initially requested the materials related to Biden’s October 2023 interviews be turned over to Congress earlier this month and set a deadline of February 19.

That deadline was not met.

However, the Justice Department said it was “working to gather and process” responsive documents.
