Democrats on Capitol Hill are jumping at the chance to exploit internal frustration inside the Trump administration over the Department of Justice’s recent Epstein memo — hoping to reignite the issue for political gain.
Last week, the DOJ released a controversial two-page memo claiming that no “client list” exists, no blackmail operation was uncovered, and no new charges would be filed. According to the memo, a “systematic review” of evidence showed no credible basis for further investigations into uncharged individuals.
The memo infuriated many within the MAGA base, who had long believed that a release of the Epstein files under President Trump would finally expose powerful elites involved in Epstein’s child sex trafficking network. Attorney General Pam Bondi herself said in February that the files were “on her desk” and under review.
The backlash sparked reports of internal clashes. Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino reportedly threatened to resign. Trump allies demanded more transparency. And on Saturday, Trump himself issued a rare rebuke to members of his own administration.
