At least 12 people have been injured, some seriously, in a knife attack in Hamburg, Germany, according to reports.
A woman has been arrested by federal police after the attack at Hamburg central station on Friday evening, Bild said. It has not been confirmed by police.
Three of the injured are said to be in a critical condition, another three are seriously injured and six more people have sustained minor injuries, according to the newspaper.
According to reports, the stabbing occurred at 6.05pm in front of a train waiting at the station.Some of the wounded were being treated by medical teams in trains.
Police cordoned off the area around the station and rail traffic was suspended. Images from the site showed police officers and paramedics attending to numerous injured people.

Hamburg police said in a post on X: “According to initial information, a person injured several people with a knife at the main train station. The suspect was apprehended by the responding forces.”
They later issued a statement saying: “The person arrested is a 39-year-old woman. Based on what we know so far, we assume that she acted alone. An investigation into the reasons [for the attack] is in full swing.”
