Google Vows to Reinstate Banned YouTube Accounts After Admitting to Political Censorship – EVOL

Google revealed Tuesday that it will offer reinstatement to YouTube accounts permanently banned for political speech related to COVID-19 and election integrity.

The move comes after the tech giant acknowledged that the Biden administration pressured the platform to censor lawful and truthful content for political purposes.

The disclosure came in a document sent by Google’s lawyers to the House Judiciary Committee.

The policy shift could impact high-profile figures like FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino, White House counterterrorism chief Sebastian Gorka, and “War Room” host Steve Bannon.

All three conservatives had their channels permanently removed under YouTube’s now-abandoned censorship rules.

“Reflecting the Company’s commitment to free expression, YouTube will provide an opportunity for all creators to rejoin the platform if the company terminated their channels for repeated violations of COVID-19 and elections integrity policies that are no longer in effect,” the letter states.

YouTube permanently banned Bongino in 2022 after claiming his commentary on masks violated its policies.

Bongino later became one of Rumble’s most-followed personalities, crediting YouTube’s censorship for fueling his audience growth.

The greatest thing to ever happen to us was when YouTube attacked us for stating that masks don’t work.
