After several prominent GOP critics of President Donald Trump have confirmed they will not be voting for him in November, many pundits wondered if former President George W. Bush would weigh in.
His office finally released a statement on the matter, but only to confirm that he would not be publicly endorsing any candidate nor would he reveal whom he plans to vote for.
According to Fox News:
Former President George W. Bush does not plan to reveal whom he will vote for in the upcoming 2024 election.
“No,” the former president’s office said when asked by NBC News whether he or former First Lady Laura Bush would endorse a candidate publicly. “President Bush retired from presidential politics years ago.”
Bush’s refusal to make a public endorsement comes just a day after his former vice president, Dick Cheney, announced that he would go against his party’s candidate and support Vice President Kamala Harris in November.
Several anti-Trump Republicans have spoken out against the GOP nominee in recent weeks, including some who said they would be casting a ballot for Kamala Harris.
