Florida School Board Chair Under Fire for Celebrating Hulk Hogan’s Death – EVOL

Alachua County School Board Chair Sarah Rockwell is under heavy fire after posting a disgusting remark celebrating the death of wrestling legend and cultural icon Hulk Hogan, who passed away on Thursday at age 71.

While fans and public figures worldwide mourned Hogan’s death, Rockwell took to Facebook to write:

“Good. One less MAGA in the world.”

Her comment came in response to a friend’s post announcing Hogan’s death.

Public Backlash

The remark quickly went viral after being shared by Corey DeAngelis, a prominent school choice advocate. Outrage erupted, especially given Rockwell’s role in shaping the educational future of thousands of Florida students.

Attempted Walk-Back

As criticism mounted, Rockwell deleted the comment and posted a restricted apology on her Facebook page:

A few days ago, I made a cruel and flippant comment from my personal Facebook account on a friend’s post regarding the death of Hulk Hogan. I deeply regret making that comment and have since removed it. I want to make it very clear that I never have and never will wish harm on anyone regardless of whether we share
