FBI agents executed search warrants at two homes owned by Indiana University computer science professor XiaoFeng Wang and his wife, Nianli Ma. The university removed the online profiles of both Wang, who has researched cryptography, privacy and cybersecurity, and Ma, an IU library systems analyst. Wang’s work at the university’s Luddy School of Informatics, Computing and Engineering has been funded by multiple federal government agencies. A criminal defense lawyer who worked on the federal criminal investigation of then-President Bill Clinton was at the couple’s Carmel home when FBI agents searched it.
