Former NFL star Sergio Brown has reportedly gone “missing” after police found the body of his dead mother in an Illinois creek.
According to the Maywood Police Department, 73-year-old Myrtle Brown’s body was dumped in the water after she had been murdered.
On Saturday, family members reported to the police that they couldn’t find or make contact with Myrtle Brown.
Her son, 35-year-old Sergio Brown, was also uncontactable.
Following the report, a missing persons search was launched.
Myrtle Brown’s body was found in Addison Creek near her home on Saturday.
She was the victim of an assault and her death was ruled a homicide, officials revealed.
Now, police are on a desperate hunt for the ex-NFL player.
Sergio Brown played in the NFL for seven seasons for the New England Patriots, Indianapolis Colts, Atlanta Falcons, Jacksonville Jaguars, and the Buffalo Bills.
Police are now investigating what has happened to him and his mother.
“I’m not waiting another hour. Please share!” Nick Brown, son of Myrtle and Brother of Sergio, said in a social-media post.
“If you see them or one of them please let me know or the Maywood Police Office know.”
