During the first Oversight Subcommittee hearing on the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) program, Democrat Rep. Robert Garcia (CA) referred to DOGE Chair Elon Musk as a “d***” and railed against the group’s work to spot waste, fraud, and abuse in the federal government.
Garcia and other Democrats have increasingly targeted Musk since the billionaire began publicly backing President Donald Trump. The work at DOGE has been categorized by some as a scheme for financially enriching Musk, who is the world’s richest man and worth more than $400 billion.
“I find it ironic, of course, that our chairwoman, Congresswoman [Marjorie Taylor] Greene, is in charge of running this committee,” Garcia said at the hearing. “Now, in the last Congress, Chairwoman Greene literally showed a d*** pic in our oversight congressional hearing, so I thought I’d bring one as well.” Garcia then held up an image of Musk, calling him “President Elon Musk.”
Greene, referenced by Garcia, during a past hearing showed images from Hunter Biden’s laptop. Notably, prominent Democrats, their allies in the media, and more than 50 former senior intelligence officials all falsely indicated that the laptop was Russian disinformation.
