BREAKING: Suspect in stabbing of 14-year-old girl at Indiana baseball game is illegal immigrant who was deported in 2018 – EVOL

A previously deported illegal immigrant has been arrested in Indiana in connection with the stabbing of a 14-year-old girl who was watching her brother’s baseball game on Saturday.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Department identified the suspect as 26-year-old Dimas Gabriel Yanez, who was captured while running through a cornfield on Sunday. The attack occurred a day earlier, and the girl is currently recovering from her injuries.

According to authorities, Yanez had been on the run after allegedly stabbing the girl in the hand at a baseball game in unincorporated Lowell, Indiana, on Saturday, August 31st. The incident took place around 3:45 p.m. local time at the baseball fields near 17401 Morse Street in Lowell. Police reported that the 14-year-old girl was watching her brother’s game when she was attacked.
