BREAKING: MAJOR plane crash into Portland-area neighborhood, starts fire – EVOL

A small plane crashed into a house in a residential neighborhood near Portland, Oregon, on Saturday morning, sparking a fire. The crash occurred around 10:20 a.m. local time.

According to KATU2, the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office reported that the twin-engine Cessna 421C plane went down in the suburb of Fairview.

The Port of Portland issued a statement saying, “Around 10:20 a.m. today, a small general aviation aircraft crashed near Troutdale Airport. Port of Portland Fire has sent a crash vehicle and battalion chief for support at the scene, and the Gresham Fire Department is the agency in charge.”

The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office also posted an update, stating, “A small aircraft has crashed into a residential neighborhood in Fairview. PIO is responding. Media staging area is NE Sandy and Fairview Parkway.”

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) commented on the crash, stating, “We do not yet know how many people were on board. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate.”
