Biden Pushing to Approve ‘Trash-Fed Crickets’ for Public Consumption – EVOL

President Joe Biden’s administration is investing vast sums of taxpayer money into research to accelerate the approval of “trash-fed crickets” as “food” for the U.S. general public’s consumption.

Biden has reportedly ordered his Department of Agriculture (USDA) to rush through the approval to ensure that Americans are eating insects instead of meat and dairy products before the 2024 election.

To meet these demands, the USDA has allocated $130,000 in federal taxpayer funds to advance the research into cultivating crickets as a protein source using municipal landfill waste.

Mighty Cricket Inc., a company specializing in cricket-based food products, is the beneficiary of the USDA’s grant, the Daily Caller reported.

The research started on July 1, 2023, and is targeted to conclude by February 29, 2024.

The agency’s decision to fund research into trash-derived cricket feed is grounded in the belief that it could drastically cut the costs of cricket farming, allowing savings to trickle down to consumers.

The grant listing accuses traditional livestock farming of being overly resource-intensive and environmentally detrimental.
