As far-left activists mobilized across the nation for “Tesla Takedown” protests targeting company owner Elon Musk over his involvement with the Trump Administration, citizen journalists and internet sleuths raised questions about the highly coordinated nature of the “grassroots” protests.
Left-wing activists, pundits and elected Democrats urged supporters to participate in nationwide “Tesla Takedown” protests outside company dealerships over the weekend. While small groups of left-wing protesters have been protesting outside Tesla dealerships for weeks — in addition to increasing acts of violence against Tesla dealers and owners — this weekend’s protests were billed as the biggest yet.
Turnout was rather lackluster outside deep blue enclaves, however. In San Antonio, Texas — the second biggest city in the Lonestar State and one of the most populous in the nation with 1.5 million residents — less than a dozen protesters showed up to each of two planned demonstrations in the city.
Breitbart News reported that the small rabble held up anti-Musk and anti-Trump signs, most of which contained Swastikas and other Nazi imagery. Despite the pitiful turnout, organizers and city subreddit users described it as “great” and “overwhelming.”
