A top trucking advocacy group is sounding the alarm over what it calls a growing safety crisis on American roads—blaming the Biden-Harris regime for unleashing unvetted, non-English-speaking migrant drivers behind the wheels of 80,000-pound semis.
Deadly Consequences on U.S. Roads
Shannon Everett, spokesperson for American Truckers United (ATU), is warning Americans to stay alert on the highways after a surge in fatal wrecks involving drivers with non-domiciled commercial driver’s licenses (CDLs).
“This is an urgent wake-up call for every American,” Everett said in a video posted to X. “Our highways are no longer safe. Reckless immigration policies and weakened licensing standards have unleashed a deadly crisis on our roads.”
Everett pointed to the tragic Austin, Texas crash earlier this year that killed five Americans and injured 11 more. The driver, according to ATU, “barely spoke English” and was “almost certainly” operating on a non-domicile CDL.
