Albuquerque GOP headquarters targeted in alleged arson – EVOL

The entrance to the Republican Party headquarters in Albuquerque was destroyed in an alleged arson attack and vandalism attempt early Sunday morning, according to party officials.

The Albuquerque Fire Department (AFD) confirmed the incident, stating that fire crews were dispatched just before 6 a.m. and managed to control the flames within five minutes of arrival.

The structure sustained significant damage to its entryway and smoke damage throughout the building, though no injuries were reported.

The Albuquerque Police Department, FBI, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) have launched a joint investigation into the alleged attack.

Amy Barela, chairwoman of the Republican Party of New Mexico, shared photos of the damage on X, calling the incident a “deliberate act of arson.” She also noted that vandals had spray-painted “ICE=KKK” on the building’s exterior.

“This horrific attack, fueled by hatred and intolerance, is a direct assault on our values, freedoms, and our right to political expression,” Barela wrote.

Barela suggested that the attack was part of a larger pattern of politically motivated violence, accusing progressive leaders of failing to condemn such actions.
