2 Illegal Migrants Indicted in Shooting of Border Patrol Agent – EVOL

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg Jr. and Homeland Security officials announced Tuesday the indictment of two illegal aliens involved in the attempted murder of a U.S. Border Patrol agent last month in New York City.

The suspects, Mora Nunez (21) and Christhian Aybar‑Berroa (22), are both illegally in the United States, and now face deportation after being charged in connection to the July 19 shooting that left an off-duty Border Patrol agent shot in the face and arm.

Suspect Entered Under Biden Admin, Ignored Court Date

Nunez entered through the Southern Border under President Biden, and was released in April 2023 due to “lack of detention space.” He was issued a notice to appear before an immigration judge — but never showed up.

Now, he faces charges including:

  • Attempted murder (1st and 2nd degree)

  • Assault

  • Robbery and attempted robbery

  • Criminal possession of a weapon

    Nunez has a long rap sheet, including assault, grand larceny, kidnapping, and was wanted in
