Former White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre faced House investigators this week and testified that high-level officials covered up Joe Biden’s mental decline.
Jean-Pierre, who worked alongside Biden from his vice presidency through the end of his presidency in January, admitted behind closed doors that the former president was “not the same speaker he was when she met him.”
She told lawmakers she did not know why his speaking ability changed and said she never asked him.
Five Hours Of Closed-Door Testimony
The former press secretary, who left the Democratic Party earlier this year, sat for nearly five hours of questioning before the House Oversight Committee.
She declined to speak with reporters either entering or leaving the Capitol Hill session.
During her testimony, Jean-Pierre revealed that talking points about Biden’s health and mental acuity were controlled at the highest levels of the White House.
Jean-Pierre testified that the cover-up of Biden’s declining health and mental acuity was “handled exclusively at the senior level.”
She also admitted her briefing binder contained pre-written lines from senior advisors.
Those lines included the now-infamous “cheap fakes” defense to accuse critics of digitally manipulating videos of Biden that were actually real.
