CBS News finds itself embroiled in yet another editing controversy, this time involving Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s interview on “Face The Nation.”
The network allegedly cut crucial information about a suspected MS-13 gang member from Noem’s televised response.
Secretary Noem took to social media platform X to expose what she called CBS’s “shameful” editing practices.
She posted a side-by-side video comparison showing her complete answer alongside the truncated version that aired on the Sunday morning news program.
The controversy centers around Noem’s discussion of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a suspected MS-13 gang member currently facing human trafficking charges.
CBS aired only a portion of Noem’s comments about ensuring Garcia “doesn’t walk free in the United States of America.”
The network failed to broadcast the remainder of Noem’s detailed explanation about Garcia’s criminal background.
Noem provided specific information about the suspect’s alleged activities and character, according to the uncut footage.
“This individual was a known human smuggler, MS -13 gang member, an individual who was a wife beater, and someone who was so perverted that he solicited nude photos from minors. And even his fellow human traffickers told him to knock it off,” Noem stated in the complete version
