A newly declassified FBI interview report shows a Democrat whistleblower told federal agents that then-Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) personally approved leaking classified information to damage President Donald Trump during the “Russiagate” scandal.
The whistleblower, a career intelligence officer who worked for Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee, first alerted the FBI in 2017 and repeated the allegations as recently as 2023, according to Just The News.
Schiff’s Alleged Role in Coordinated Leaks
The officer claimed Schiff — then the ranking member, and later chairman, of the committee — called an all-staff meeting where he told staffers they would leak classified material derogatory to Trump. The goal, Schiff allegedly said, was to use the information to “indict President Trump.”
The whistleblower also alleged Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) was likely the direct source of some classified leaks and claimed Schiff had been promised the position of CIA Director if Hillary Clinton won the 2016 election.
