Police have arrested a seventh suspect in connection with the violent mob assault on a white couple attending a downtown jazz festival late last month. Gregory Wright, 32, was taken into custody Monday and charged with aggravated riot and aggravated robbery.
Authorities say Wright ripped a gold chain from a victim’s neck during the beating, then put the property in his pocket before filming the rest of the attack. He was booked into jail at 4:30 p.m., according to court and jail records.
