Officials have confirmed that the shock sudden death of Hollywood star Michael Madsen was caused by cardiac arrest.
The rugged, iconic actor was known for his unforgettable roles in “Reservoir Dogs” and “Kill Bill.”
Madsen’s cause of death was confirmed by his cardiologist.
The 66-year-old Hollywood actor was found unresponsive at his home in Malibu earlier this week.
His cardiologist confirmed that the actor’s death was the result of cardiac arrest.
The doctor suggested that heart disease and a history of alcoholism may have been contributing factors.
However, an autopsy will not be performed to confirm Madsen
According to PEOPLE, an autopsy will not be performed because Madsen’s cardiologist signed the death certificate.
The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department has reportedly closed its investigation.
Madsen’s death has now officially been classified as natural causes.
Spokespersons for the Los Angeles Medical Examiner and the Sheriff’s Department have not issued a public statement.
Following the actor’s death, Madsen’s manager, Ron Smith, said:
“What we understand is Michael had a cardiac arrest and was found unresponsive in his Malibu home earlier this morning.”
Madsen was widely regarded for his gritty, commanding on-screen presence.
