President Donald J. Trump is doubling down on his promise to dismantle the bloated federal bureaucracy by appointing Russell Vought, his top budget officer, to take the reins of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) following Elon Musk’s departure from the post.
“This is about cutting waste, eliminating woke bloat, and restoring power to the people,” a senior Trump official said.

Russell Vought, currently Director of the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB), will now oversee DOGE’s mission to:
Reclassify entrenched federal employees via Schedule F
Slash unconstitutional regulations
Recover billions in taxpayer dollars
Advance Trump’s $9.3 billion rescission plan
