6 Secret Service Suspends Agents Over Trump Assassination Attempt – EVOL

Nearly a year after the attempted assassination of President Donald J. Trump, six Secret Service agents have now been suspended without pay for their failure to secure the rally site in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13, 2024.

“Secret Service is totally accountable for Butler,” said Deputy Director Matt Quinn in a CBS interview.
“Butler was an operational failure and we are focused today on ensuring that it never happens again.”

Secret Service Admits Failure, But Keeps Agents on the Job

According to CBS News, the six agents were suspended for up to six weeks and reassigned to restricted-duty roles with “less operational responsibility.”

Quinn added:

“We aren’t going to fire our way out of this. We’re going to focus on the root cause and fix the deficiencies.”
